MUSICIAN
Judith Lecuit was born in Luxembourg. The most significant part of her musical and instrumental tutoring took place in Germany where she studied with professor Kanngiesser at the Musikhochschule in Cologne and with professor Gleissner in Stuttgart. She attended courses by Chaffran and Bunting, the renowned violoncellists and also participated in chamber music together with members of the Amadeus and Alban Berg Quartet.
Inspired by orchestral performances, she became a member of the ECYO, the Gustav Mahler Orchestra and the RIAS Berlin. Residing for two years with the Berlin State Opera under the direction of Daniel Barenboim allowed her to become familiar with a large selection of opers. As a former member of the Stuttgart Quatuor Ariosa she has acquired a great deal of practical experience with chamber music.
Today, in Luxembourg, she performs solo as well as with different musical groups and musicians. She also is the leader of the cello group of the Chamber Orchestra of Luxembourg.
Diverging from her classical education she’s attracted towards experimental projects such as working together with poets, actors or other artists accompanying or enhancing their productions with her music.
